Glenys Anne Chartrand, OTR
Mrs. Chartrand was born and raised in New Zealand, and is one of the most innovative and successful Registered Occupational Therapists, internationally and in the United States. She received her education from the New Zealand School of Occupational Therapy and the Central Technology Institute. She is the innovator of Stress-induced or Related Conditions: Lifestyle Education (SIRCLE®) program, which utilizes mind-body / body-mind principles to nurture pain sufferers back to normal health. She recently added cold laser therapy. This type of therapy utilizes light instead of heat to stimulate the restorative powers of the body to actually heal, not just manage chronic conditions.
Areas of specialty include the Over-use Syndromes, Fibromyalgia, Peripheral & Diabetic Neuropathies, Bone Spurs and other bone abnormalities, head pain, neck pain, back pain, rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis, and other repairable conditions. She is published in trade journals, and is the Founder of SIRCLE® Pain Relief Center in Casa Grande, AZ.
Barbara Morris, MS, OTR/L
Barbara Morris is a Licensed and Registered Occupational Therapist (O.T.) with a specialty in Health & Wellness. She earned her masters degree in Occupational Therapy in 1998 from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Through her experiences as an O.T. in inpatient, outpatient, and assisted living settings, from pediatrics to geriatric care, she has gained appreciation for the need to support the patient as his/her best healthcare advocate in a preventative and wellness-based model. Throughout her career in predominantly physical dysfunction settings, she has included a variety of nature-based activities from hippotherapy and other equine assisted activities, to gardening, aquatics, relaxation, and aromatherapy, to better address the whole person, mind, body, & spirit. Barbara holds certificates as a Wellness Coach and in the AromaTouch Technique (ATT), to better address her patients, clients, and caregiver needs. She has been trained in the SIRCLE developed Biomarker Assessment, and is pleased to serve as Clinical Director for SIRCLE Occupational Therapy & Wellness Clinic.
Max Stanley Chartrand, Ph.D. (Behavioral Medicine):
Dr. Chartrand is a noted researcher and educator in behavioral medicine and communicative disorders. He received his education from the University of Denver, Metropolitan State University, Utah State University, Charter Oak State College, Northcentral University, and others over a span of more than three decades, and holds six advanced degrees plus various certificates. He has published numerous manuals, textbooks, and hundreds of professional journal articles. He lectures internationally to undergraduate, graduate, and professional CE/CME seminars.
Since the age of 3, Dr. Chartrand has been hearing impaired, and eventually became profoundly deaf as an adult.
He utilizes a cochlear implant and assistive technology for auditory communication. Despite the tremendous challenges presented from deafness, he has successfully completed, with honors in most cases, several advanced degrees. In 1994, he was honored with the International Joel S. Wernick Excellence in Education Award, and is a professional member of the Society of Behavioral Medicine, American Tinnitus Association, and the International Hearing Society. Recently, he published “Video Otoscopy: A Quantitative View” that adds to the area of biomarker assessment for a number of disciplines. He inspires his doctoral students to expand their research and healing skills, so that they may step outside the failed modalities of today’s allopathic health care system. He strongly believes that real healing occurs when underlying causes are discovered and treated, and when mind and body achieve homeostasis.
